With Dacron materials at gather settings higher than 40% it was
previously necessary to reduce the basic stitch length to 2 mm, which
meant a lower feed rate than at the usual standard stich length of 3 or
4 mm. Since 1998 the machine is available as standard
with a differential feed stroke of 8 mm. This means that gather
settings of up to 60% are now possible at a basic stitch length of 3
mm.
