What different stitch types are there?
There are three different stitch types, hand stitch, chainstitch and lockstitch.
- In hand stitch the thread supply has to be passed through the material on every stitch.
- In chainstitch every thread loop is interlooped with a loop of the same or a different thread.
- In lockstitch the thread loop passed into the material by the needle is interlaced by a second thread which is placed into it with the help of a shuttle (sewing hook).
