The intensive efforts made by the management board have finally failed despite of the affirmation of a write-off of € 20 Mio. by the principal creditors as well as the successful consent between works council, union and management board regarding the realization of personal measures necessary for the recapitalization plan.

The recapitalization plan implied a radical reduction of the product portfolio, the launch of the “Powerline” series as well as to push the business unit welding machines. The location Kaiserslautern should be turned to an assembly location, the parts’ production and the supply with components via the Chinese location should be intensified.  

The difficult market environment – especially in Asia – the huge capital needs as well as the restructuring demands made the interested investors refrain from an investment.
